
Synchronizing your existing favorites and bookmarks
You can import your existing browser bookmarks or favorites to your AllMyfavorites account, by importing a bookmarks.html file.
Below you can see how to make the bookmarks.html file from Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
(Most browsers can make a netscape bookmarks.html file - so you should be able to import your bookmarks from other browsers too.
You will have to see your browser help if you don't know how to make the bookmarks.html file)
When you have exported the bookmarks.html file, you can import the bookmarks into your AllMyFavorites account:
- Login to your AllMyFavorites account
- Click the "Sync" button to the right
- Upload your bookmarks.html file. (See below how to create a bookmark file from your browser)
- When your bookmarks.html file has been uploaded, you will be able to select/deselect the categories/bookmarks you want
Exporting favorites from Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Open Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Select the menu item: File|Import and Export...
- Click the "Next" button
- Select the "Export Favorites" and click the "Next" button
- Select the folder you want to export or keep the select of the root "Favorites" if you want to export all your favorites.
Click the "Next" button
- Select where you want to save your bookmark file.
As default the bookmark.htm file will be saved in your "My Document" folder.
(Remember where you save the file - you will need it later)
Click the "Next" button
- Click the "finish" button
- A message box "Successfully export favorites" will popup - click the "Ok" button
Exporting bookmarks from FireFox
- Open the Mozilla Firefox browser
- Select the menu item: Bookmarks|Manage Bookmarks...
- In the bookmark manager window select the menu item: File|Export...
- Select where you want to save your bookmark file.
(Remember where you save the file - you will need it later)
